The Arizona Center for Civic Leadership at the Flinn Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2018 Flinn-Brown Civic Leadership Academy. Meanwhile, CivEx (Arizona Civic Exchange) is at capacity and a wait list has been created.
The Flinn-Brown Civic Leadership Academy is now accepting applications through Nov. 13 for its 2018 cohort, which will include 12 public-policy seminar sessions at the Flinn Foundation on Fridays and Saturdays in March-May 2018.
Through a highly competitive application process, approximately 35 Arizonans will be selected to join the network of nearly 300 Flinn-Brown Fellows from the state’s business, agricultural, industry, education, nonprofit, and public sectors—and from many walks of life and perspectives.
The nonpartisan Flinn-Brown Academy and Flinn-Brown Network help experienced leaders succeed in Arizona state government. The Fellows are expected to become elected officials, agency executives, members of boards and commissions, and policy advisors.
CivEx, which will be held over four Friday afternoons in February and March, is a free, nonpartisan, seminar series for Arizona businesspeople, candidates, advocates, and voters to learn more about current state-level issues and diverse perspectives across the political spectrum.
The 2018 CivEx series will be held at the Flinn Foundation, 1802 N. Central Ave., in Phoenix. The seminars will be held on February 2, February 9, February 23, and March 9 from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Participants must commit to attend all four events.
A wait list has been created due to strong demand. Those interested in the program are encouraged to register to be added to the wait list.
